The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, popularly known as the Tulip Garden, is the largest tulip garden in Asia and one of the most vibrant attractions in Srinagar. Located at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range and overlooking Dal Lake, the garden comes alive every spring with millions of blooming tulips arranged in perfectly patterned rows. Spread across vast terraced lawns, it showcases a stunning variety of colors including red, yellow, pink, purple, and white. Opened in 2007 to boost tourism in Kashmir, the garden has since become the centerpiece of the annual Tulip Festival, drawing visitors from across India and abroad to witness this breathtaking floral display.
Visitors can walk along the wide pathways between endless rows of tulips and capture stunning photographs against the backdrop of mountains and Dal Lake. The Tulip Garden is open only for a limited period, usually from late March to mid-April, depending on blooming conditions. Plan your visit during peak bloom for the best experience, but try going early in the morning to avoid heavy crowds. Wear comfortable shoes as the garden is spread over a large area.
